Models

models

Click the menu item “Models”.

The Model list table displays all the available JCL Models. The models can be sorted alphabetically by name or by export path.

Creating a new model

When there is no Model available for a required step, you can create a new one by clicking the “New Model” link.

In the “Create new Model” pop-up panel complete the following fields.

  • File Name: should follow the convention “stepnameWHAT_jcl.model”, see the existing models for examples.

  • Export Path: the subfolder inside the models folder to which this model belongs to semantically, for example a build type step should be put in the “BUILD” folder, see the existing models for examples.

  • Description: states the objective of the model, this field is not required.

  • File Name (Choose File): Pick the file for the model, its file name should be the same as your first field: “File Name”.

Click the “Save” button to save the new model.

Editing a model

A model can be customized by clicking on the File Name link.

Click on any model name to see an example.

In the Model Info panel, you will notice 4 action icons at the left and 1 on the right:

Copy Model: copies the current model to a Configuration Set. KRC appends the model name with “_Copy” to avoid duplicate models, alternatively you can choose another name.

Click the “Copy” button to copy the model.

Download contents of Model: downloads the model as a text file to the default download location set in your web browser.

Upload new contents of Model: uploads a model in text file format, the file name of the uploaded text file is ignored.

Click the “Save” button to upload the model.

Edit Model: edits the model details such as the File Name, Export Path and Description.

Click the “Save” the model details.

Delete Model: deletes the current model.

The content of a model can only be changed by downloading the model, editing the downloaded model file using a text editor and then uploading the finished model file (to the same model entry). KRC has no built-in text editing capabilities.
