Models
Click the menu item “Models”.
The Model list table displays all the available JCL Models. The models can be sorted alphabetically by name or by export path.

When there is no Model available for a required step, you can create a new one by clicking the “New Model” link.
In the “Create new Model” pop-up panel complete the following fields.
-
File Name: should follow the convention “stepnameWHAT_jcl.model”, see the existing models for examples.
-
Export Path: the subfolder inside the models folder to which this model belongs to semantically, for example a build type step should be put in the “BUILD” folder, see the existing models for examples.
-
Description: states the objective of the model, this field is not required.
-
File Name (Choose File): Pick the file for the model, its file name should be the same as your first field: “File Name”.
Click the “Save” button to save the new model.
Editing a model
A model can be customized by clicking on the File Name link.
Click on any model name to see an example.
In the Model Info panel, you will notice 4 action icons at the left and 1 on the right:
Copy Model: copies the current model to a Configuration Set. KRC appends the model name with “_Copy” to avoid duplicate models, alternatively you can choose another name.
Click the “Copy” button to copy the model.
Download contents of Model: downloads the model as a text file to the default download location set in your web browser.
Upload new contents of Model: uploads a model in text file format, the file name of the uploaded text file is ignored.
Click the “Save” button to upload the model.
Edit Model: edits the model details such as the File Name, Export Path and Description.
Click the “Save” the model details.
Delete Model: deletes the current model.
The content of a model can only be changed by downloading the model, editing the downloaded model file using a text editor and then uploading the finished model file (to the same model entry). KRC has no built-in text editing capabilities. |
